Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2024 designer of the year, John Tree is a London-based designer.

Tree has previously worked at both Sony and Jasper Morrison's design offices, establishing his own practice in 2016. 

With a focus on industry and economy, his award-winning designs reflect a deep understanding and engagement with the manufacturing process.

His minimal approach often reduces pieces to their essential elements, resulting in crafted yet industrial designs with a refined function and essential simplicity that aim to provide longevity.

His studio works with clients in the furniture, lighting, and electronic industries including HAY, Hydro, Muuto, NaughtOne, Resident and Tala among others.

Tree has recently designed an adaptable table system for NaughtOne and a recycled aluminium chair for Hydro.
