Nomadic Resorts and Atelier Nomadic have created the Madi Hiyaa restaurant in the Maldives.
This project is an overwater Yakitori restaurant and bar intended to revamp the existing jetty structure at Banyan Tree Vabinfaru and create a new iconic dining experience.
The naturally ventilated, bioclimatic structure features an incredible sea saltwater infinity pool and an array of overwater catamaran nets, where guests can relax and enjoy breathtaking sunset panoramas.
Crafted meticulously from bamboo, the structure is amplified by the dramatic Maldivian landscape and reflected in a mirror-like lagoon.
The looping, shingled tail winds back down the jetty, linking the building with the mainland and guiding visitors into it.
This project has been shortlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
