Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2024 architect of the year, Marina Tabassum Architects (MTA) based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Founded in 2005, the studio's primary aim is to root architecture to place, informed by people, climate and geography. Their work is environmentally conscious, socially responsible and historically and culturally informed.

In addition to building design, MTA researches the impact of climate change in Bangladesh, working closely with geographers, landscape architects and planners among other allied professionals. The studios also focuses on the low-income population of the country with an aim to raise living conditions for these populations.

Marina Tabassum was named on the on the list of the 100 most influential people of 2024 by Time magazine and her studio recently completed a bamboo demountable house at the Vitra Campus in Germany.
