Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2024 designer of the year, Tokyo and Milan-based Nendo was founded by architect and designer Oki Sato in 2002.
Nendo works primarily across architecture, interiors, products and graphic design.
Works by Nendo can be found in museum collections worldwide including the MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris and London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
The studio is responsible for the overall production and design of the Japanese Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, scheduled for 2025.
Recent projects of theirs include a triangular home nestled in a forest in Japan, an asymmetrical glass for Japan's oldest beer brand Sapporo and a colourful furniture collection for Italian design brand Paola Lenti.
Nendo has been shortlisted in the designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
