Ellen van Loon
Architect Ellen van Loon is a partner at Dutch architecture firm OMA.
Based in Rotterdam, van Loon joined OMA in 1998. The Dutch architectural firm is a leading partnership practicing cultural analysis, architecture and urbanism involved in building projects and masterplans around the world.
With her sophisticated design style and precise execution abilities, van Loon has led several award-winning projects. Some of her most significant contributions include the Maggie’s Centre in Glasgow and the New Court Rothschild Bank HQ in London, which were both nominated for the Stirling Prize, and De Rotterdam, the now tallest building in the Netherlands. Currently, van Loon is working on the the £110 million arts centre Factory Manchester, renovations of the Dutch Parliament in The Hague, and a new building for Brighton College in England.
