53 Great Suffolk Street is a sensitive refurbishment and extension of a Victorian warehouse in London, bringing 40,000 square feet of much needed workspace to Southwark.
The project replaces a single storey section of the building with a new bay matching the main volume, clad in coal-fired, salt-glazed brick. A cantilevered steel staircase sits within a glazed enclosure and brings natural light deep into the building. An interior palette of exposed concrete, raw steel and painted brickwork creates a high-quality working environment. A generous roof terrace provides views over Southwark.
