The coronavirus outbreak has caused dozens of architecture and design events scheduled for 2020 to be postponed or cancelled. A number of cultural institutions have also closed temporarily. Architecture Matters: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 26 to 27 March, the festival has been postponed until 29-30 October.
Biennale Interieur: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 22 to 26 October, the biennale has been postponed until 2021.
Brighton Design Show: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 2 to 5 April 2020, the event has been postponed until 8-11 April 2021.
Berlin Design Week: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 30 April to 10 May, the event has been cancelled.
CANactions International Architecture Festival: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 16 May 2020, the event has been postponed until 2021.
Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 22 to 26 June, the event has been cancelled.
Cersaie: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 28 September to 2 October, the event has been postponed until 9-13 November.
Clerkenwell Design Week: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 May, the event has been postponed until 2021.
Concéntrico: postponed. The Logroño Architecture and Design Festival was originally scheduled to take place from 29 April to 3 May. The event has been postponed until 3-6 September.
Context as Device Conference: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place on 27 March, the event has been postponed with new dates to be announced.
Copenhagen Architecture Festival: changed to new format. Scandinavia's largest annual architecture festival was originally scheduled to take place from 23 April to 3 May. The festival's program will instead be spread across three separate time periods during the year, with the first of these events taking place online in April.
DBA Design Effectiveness Awards: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place on 5 May, the event has been cancelled.
Design London: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 16 to 19 September 2020, the event has been postponed until 22-25 September 2021.
Design Miami/Basel: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 16 to 21 June, the event has been cancelled.
Design Month Graz: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 8 May to 7 June, the event has been cancelled.
DesignMarch: postponed. Iceland's annual design festival was originally scheduled to take place from 8 to 13 March. The festival has been postponed until 24-28 June.
Design Parade Hyères: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place 6 to 7 June, the event has been postponed until 2021.
Design Parade Toulon: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place 25 to 28 June, the event has been postponed until 2021.
EDIT Napoli: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 June, the event has been postponed until 16-18 October.
Fabricate: cancelled. The digital fabrication focused conference was originally scheduled from 2 to 4 April. The event will now take place online from 9 to 12 September.
Forward Festival Vienna: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 16 t0 17 April, the event has been postponed until 8-9 October.
Frieze London: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 8 May to 10 October, the event has been cancelled.
Grand Designs Live: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 2 to 10 May, the event has been postponed until 22-31 August.
Geneva Motor Show: cancelled. The annual auto exhibition was originally scheduled to take place from 7 to 17 March. The event has been cancelled.
Habitare: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place in September, the event has been postponed until 15-19 September 2021.
Helsinki Biennial: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to open on 12 June 2020, the event has been postponed until 12 June – 26 September 2021.
HIX: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to open from 19 to 20 November 2020, the event has been postponed until 18-19 November 2021.
iF Design Award Ceremony and Exhibition: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place on May 3, the events have been cancelled.
LANDSCAPE show: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 22 to 23 September 2020, the event has been postponed until Spring 2021.
Light + Building: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place in Frankfurt from 8 to 13 March, the fair has been cancelled, and will be rescheduled to 2022.
London Design Fair: postponed until 20212. Originally scheduled to take place from 17 to 20 September, 2020, the event has been postponed until 20212, with new dates to be announced.
Łódź Design Festival: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 24 May, the event has been postponed until September.
London Craft Week: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 27 April to 3 May, the event has been postponed until 30 September – 8 October.
London Festival of Architecture: postponed, with new digital version. The world's largest architecture festival was scheduled to take place from 1 to 30 June. A digital version will take place online in June, while the public events program has been postponed until later in the year.
Maison&Objet: to take place online. Originally scheduled to take place from 4 to 8 September, the festival will now take place online from 4-18 September.
MIPIM: cancelled. The four-day real estate festival in Cannes was originally scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 March. The main event has been cancelled, instead transforming into a two day gathering of industry leaders in Paris and a new virtual experience available year-round, MIPIM Connect.
Moscow Urban Forum: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 2 to 5 July 2020, the 10th edition of the forum has been postponed until July 1–4 2021.
New Designers Part 1: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 1 to 4 July, the event has been cancelled.
Norman Foster Foundations' Forum "Future is Now": cancelled. Addressing the most pressing current issues in architecture and design, the forum was scheduled to take place in Madrid on 1 June. The event has been cancelled.
OFFF Barcelona: postponed until 2021. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 to 26 September 2020, the event has been postponed until 6-8 May 2021.
ORGATEC: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 27 to 31 October, the event has been cancelled.
PAD Paris: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 1 to 5 April, the fair has been postponed until 7-11 April 2021.
Prague Design Week: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 1 to 5 April, the event has been postponed with new dates to be announced.
Romanian Design Week: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 24 May, the event has been postponed with new dates to be announced.
Salone del Mobile: postponed. The world's largest and most important furniture fair was originally scheduled to take place from 21 to 26 April 2020. This year's edition has been suspended until 13-18 April 2021.
Schloß Hollenegg for Design: to take place online. Scheduled to take place from 9 to 31 May, the exhibition will be accessible online.
SESAM 2020 Poliklinka: postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from 28 May to 7 June, the summit has been postponed until until May 2021.
Southern Sweden Design Days: postponed until 2021. The first edition of this four-day design festival was originally scheduled to take place from 7 to 10 May 2020. The event has been postponed until May 2021.
Tallinn Architecture Biennale: postponed until 2022. Originally scheduled to take place from September to November 2021, the biennale has been postponed until 2022.

AIGA Design Conference: postponed. Hosted by the professional association of design, the conference was originally scheduled to take place from 30 March to 1 April. The event has been postponed until 12-14 November.
Architectural Digest Design Show: cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place from 19 to 22 March, the show has been cancelled.

TED 2020: postponed. The five day series of talks encompassing technology, entertainment and design, was originally scheduled to take place from 20 to 24 April in Vancouver. The conference will instead take place as an eight-week virtual event from May 18 to July 10.
