Architecture MArch at Loughborough University
The Architecture MArch course at Loughborough University provides students with postgraduate architectural learning focused on sustainable design and entrepreneurial practice.
School: Loughborough University, School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering
Course: Architecture MArch
Location: Loughborough and London, UK
Course dates: October 2022 to July 2024
Application deadline: 31 July 2022
The Part 2 Architecture MArch at Loughborough University is designed with a strong bridge between design practice and research, allowing students to choose their desired learning approach in year one between a practice-led or a self-led pathway.
The programme provides a flexible framework for experimentation in speculative design thinking and methodologies, developed in response to critical observations of contemporary practices.
The innovative, self-led approach to year one is framed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and delivered through block-week teaching at our London campus, which means students are charged at 60 per cent of the annual tuition fee in year one.
The second year is based at our Loughborough campus with a designated studio and allocated workspace for each student, which enables cross-fertilisation of ideas and the formation of a lively, tight-knit, creative culture.
The course takes advantage of our over 3,000 square metres of workshops that will allow you to construct and test designs of full-scale prototypes.
In addition to modules focused on achieving sustainable architectural design, the course pushes beyond traditional architectural education to implement transdisciplinary and entrepreneurial practices.
