The New York City-based Master of Science, Advanced Urban Design program (M.S. AUD) prepares graduates to engage in pressing urban, environmental and social issues with the tools of design to connect ecology, technology and community in pursuit of more just and nourishing futures.
The programme offers a specialised course of study at the intersection of urban systems, ecologies, technologies and data by immersing students in New York City to ask big questions, to address contemporary challenges and to invigorate public realms.
Participants in the programme deepen their understanding of a range of conceptual topics while developing their ability to uncover, visualise and translate data into designs of material, spatial and experiential consequences.
The programme supports citizen-urbanists interested in making a difference by developing their own critically engaged and radically imaginative spatial practices.
Graduates of the programme will be agents of urban change, equipped with advanced skills and expanded knowledge to apply those skills in meaningful ways.
The programme is open to individuals holding a professional bachelor of architecture degree, a professional master of architecture degree or a professional degree in an adjacent design field (eg. M.L.A., M.U.D.).
Students with professional or terminal degrees in related creative fields (eg. MFA) will also be considered.
Students with design and research interests related to urban design, urban sustainability, infrastructure systems, community engagement, visualisation and urban data are encouraged to apply to the M.S. AUD programme.
For more information, join us for a virtual session on Thursday 12 November 2024 (registration by 7 November).
The application deadline is 3 January 2025.
