Dior
Legendary French fashion house Dior has been busy over the past few years commissioning new stores around the world from a range of different architects. Our readers have noticed, and propelled the 70-year-old brand to number three in our fashion list.
Most popular this year was its Seoul boutique designed by Christian de Portzamparc and Peter Marino, which features 20-metre-high panels of rippling fibreglass resembling flowing pleats of fabric.
Also popular was the new Dior boutique in Miami, clad in white concrete panels designed by Barbarito Bancel to evoke a pleated skirt; and Peter Marino's refit of the classic Dior store in Omotesando, Tokyo, originall built by SANAA in 2004.
Meanwhile the office and workshop designed by Antonio Virga Architecte for Dior Homme showed that its not only Dior customers that get to experience great architecture.
