Iris van Herpen
Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen works with cutting-edge materials and techniques, in particular exploring how 3D printing can be harnessed to make clothing.
This year she made headlines when she used robots to print a dress over a Game of Thrones actress during a runway show, and presented a collection of accessories that were distorted by powerful magnets.
By contrast, her Autumn Winter 2016 collection featured garments resembling "bubble-like exoskeletons" made of laser-cut materials connected by plastic tubes.
The second most popular post about van Herpen was our tag of all her work, suggesting that students are eagerly googling her and researching her work.
