MoMA

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is an art museum located in New York City. It is famed for its thought-provoking exhibitions, architecture and design galleries, and PS1 Young Architects Program – the US equivalent to the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion – which commissions a different architect to create a structure in the MoMA PS1 gallery's courtyard every year.

Speaking to Dezeen ahead of a major exhibition on Japanese architecture in March, curator Pedro Gadanho said that contemporary architects in Japan had rejected the starchitect system and created a "legacy with more consistency" instead. His comments quickly became the most popular MoMa-related story of the year.

MoMa also hit the headlines as we investigated the fate of the temporary architectural pavilions erected in 2015, including Andrés Jaque's COSMO pavilion built as part of the museum's PS1 Young Architects Program.
