A sister organisation of the annual Milano Design Film Festival, MDFF Greece & Cyprus, directed by Annie Markitanis, inaugurates its first edition in Athens.
Milano Design Film Festival World Tour Greece – Athens' physical element has been delayed due to coronavirus. However, the festival will still host a smaller event from 2 to 8 November 2020, which will serve as a precursor of the main event in 2021. The prelaunch mini-event series program titled "Design in Film around the city of Athens" is curated by MDFF Greece and presents screenings, discussions, urban workshops, architectural bike routes, and city tours.
The key event of MDFF Greece–Athens, will be held in 2021 (Dates TBC ), titled "Lights On. Projecting our Contemporary Future," featuring over 20
screenings of short and feature films, documentaries, and biopics, talks, discussions, workshops, and parallel activities in the presence of national and international guests.
Designer Michael Anastassiades will guest curate a series of films and talks for a special section of the festival called Arecibo Message.
Dezeen is a media partner for the film festival. Elevation, our short documentary about how drones will transform cities, will be screened as part of the prelaunch program (2-8 Nov 2020) and during the main program in 2021 (Dates TBC)
The main event of the Milano Design Film Festival Greece – Athens in 2021 takes place at The Greek Film Archive Foundation, Athens 104 35, Greece, dates to be confirmed.
