Home Stories: 100 Years, 20 Visionary Interiors
Ghent, Belgium
Home Stories: 100 Years, 20 Visionary Interiors is an exhibition at Design Museum Gent, which presents a narrative history through 100 years of private interiors.
The exhibition is organised around 20 interiors designed by architects, designers and artists including Verner Panton, Lina Bo Bardi, Andy Warhol and Assemble.
It highlights societal, political and technical shifts that shaped design and Western interiors and explores how interior design has been inspired, shaped and enriched by a variety of different disciplines over the last century.
Starting with present-day issues, Home Stories explores the dwindling use of urban space and the blurring of work-life boundaries, the 1960s shift from formal to informal living and the 1920s introduction of open-plan living.
Home Stories takes place from 27 March to 22 August 2021 at The Design Museum, Jan Breydelstraat 5, 9000 Gent, Belgium.
