The twelfth edition of Biennale Internationale Design de Saint-Étienne explores the theme of bifurcation through six physical exhibitions.

Bifurcating is defined by the event as "exploring other ways of doing things, other possibilities, collectively, soberly, whilst respecting life and lives and adapting to different contexts."

The Biennale is also hosting Pedagogies, an exhibition that is co-curated by students and teachers of the Saint-Étienne School of Art and Design. It shows alternatives ways to develop individual and collective capacities for action.
