Earth + Fire at Schloss Hollenegg exhibits 22 contemporary ceramic designers whose work spans Japanese Imari wares, Chinese vases, Augarten teacups and Persian ceramics.

The exhibition sees a variety of old and new ceramics exhibited together with the aim of creating a thought-provoking conversation that takes the visitor on a journey of discovery.

It is curated by Alice Stori Liechtenstein and guest curator Rainald Franz, curator for glass and ceramics at the MAK Vienna.

Artist Marie Janssen is making a large ceramic installation over the course of the exhibition. The public installation will form a shell-shaped fountain and will be fired on-site. It will remain in its location for the surrounding community after the exhibition has taken place.

Earth + Fire takes place from 15 to 30 May 2021 at Schloss Hollenegg in Austria.
