Europan 16 invites interdisciplinary teams of architects, engineers and landscape architects under the age of 40 to develop new living concepts through its bi-annual competition.
The competition seeks proposals for a number of sites across Europe. It challenges participants to imagine possibilities to inhabit the planet in ways that spare natural resources and common goods, and encourage recycling processes and hybridisation.
"Europan 16 focuses on living cities as a new paradigm, where synergies between the environmental, biological, social, economic, cultural and political aspects are considered," said the organisers.
Europan is an organisation that addresses today's urban planning challenges. It organises this competition with thirteen European countries. The winning projects will be exhibited throughout Europe.
Entries for Europan 16 close on 12 September 2021. The results will be announced on 20 December 2021.
