Through a programme of exhibitions, conferences, workshops and publications, Porto Design Biennale aims to stimulate the debate around design’s ability to create solutions for the new challenges that the world faces.

The second edition of the biennale, which takes place in Porto and Matosinhos, discusses the uncertainty surrounding the usage, planning and sustainability of urban centres and the mobility of city dwellers.

The theme of the Porto Design Biennale is Alter-Realities: Designing the Present. France is the guest country for the event and has a dedicated program of events that are in line with the theme.

Porto Design Biennale 2021 takes place from 4 June to 25 July 2021 at various locations across Porto and Matosinhos, Portugal.
