Artist Yinka Ilori will be in conversation with V&A Dundee director Leonie Bell and CEO of The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, Tamsie Thomson, as part of a talk called In Conversation with Yinka Ilori.
Taking place at V&A Dundee, the artist will discuss his new installation called Listening to Joy, among other key projects. This event occurs online and in-person at V&A Dundee, and will also be BSL interpreted by interpreter Leigh Anderson.
Listening to Joy is an interactive installation currently at V&A Dundee's Locke Hall. It explores design and play through a multisensory experience and runs until 24 April 2022. The installation is made up of mesh walls, which form a maze that can be opened and closed, changing the appearance of the space.
Within the installation, visitors can experiment with sound by playing circular xylophones. The sounds are recorded, then mixed, and transformed into musical pieces.
Yinka Ilori is a British-Nigerian artist who creates installations and up-cycled vintage furniture, informed by the traditional Nigerian parables and West African fabrics he grew up around.
In Conversation with Yinka Ilori takes place online and in-person on 24 February at V&A Dundee, 1 Riverside Esplanade, Dundee DD1 4EZ.
