To coincide with the Frieze New York art fair, Dezeen is partnering with NeueHouse to host a talk exploring afrofuturism in art and design.
Building the Future: Afrofuturism takes place at NeueHouse Madison Square, Manhattan, at 5:30pm EST on 20 May, with doors opening at 5pm.
Moderated by Dezeen's US editor Ben Drieth, the talk will cover the traditions of afrofuturism and how artists and designers are interpreting the movement in new ways.
Joining the discussion panel is artist Fabiola Jean Louis, artist and designer Olalekan Jeyifous, and Tariq Dixon, co-founder of furniture business TRNK.
The live talk will be filmed and published on Dezeen at a later date.
Building the Future: Afrofuturism is the second part of Building the Future, a series of talks hosted by Dezeen in collaboration with NeueHouse throughout 2022 which explores what comes next in art, architecture and design.
