Taking place from 7 May to 14 August, Chairs. Dieckmann! is an exhibition presented at the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Berlin, which is the first in over 30 years to showcase the solo works of furniture designer Erich Dieckmann.
The exhibition features over 120 pieces of Dieckmann's furniture, graphics and drawings, as well as contemporary designs that were informed by the seminal Bauhaus designer.
Dieckmann was influential for his modular furniture designs and experimental use of geometric forms in the 1920s and 1930s.
To close the event, art historian Dr Sandra Wagner-Conzelmann hosts a talk on 14 August discussing Dieckmann's partnership with architect Otto Bartning and his work at the Staatliche Hochschule für Handwerk und Baukunst Weimar.
Chairs. Dieckmann! exhibition takes place from 7 May to 14 August at Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts), Matthäikirchplatz, 10785 Berlin, Germany.
