Designblok, one of the largest design and fashion festivals in central Europe will take place from 5 to 9 October this year with the overriding theme "forest".
Spanning five days, Designblok brings together new products by designers and manufacturers with an emphasis on Czech design and creations from the Central European regions.
The annual event, which was founded in 1999 takes place in two main venues. The Gabriel Loci Monastery in Prague's Smíchov district will showcase contemporary international design from international brands, manufacturers, designers and design studios while the Museum of Decorative Arts will serve as a conceptual exhibition space, just as it did at last year's event.
An entire floor of the museum will be reserved for 24 contemporary Czech designers who focus on craftsmanship, building on the rich Czech tradition.
This year's event, which is the 24th edition of the Prague international design festival is centred on the theme of forest. Exhibitors will focus on the use of natural materials, traditional Czech crafts and environmental issues.
