London-based gallery Select-Works hosts scientist and artist Abid Javed's debut solo exhibition Soma during London Design Festival 2023.

Informed by his study in molecular biology, Javed presents a collection of ceramic sculptures, lighting and furniture that are reminiscent of forms found within the inner cell wall.

The exhibition features two new collections named the Cellular Compartment and Genetic Pleomorph series that experiment with materials such as metal and beeswax.

Soma: design abstractions from within the cell take place from 21 to 24 September 2023 at The Batsford Gallery, 266 Hackney Road, London E2 7SJ, UK.
