San Francisco's Museum of Craft and Design hosts the Designing Peace exhibition, exploring how design can help create social, environmental and economic peace.
The exhibition – organised by Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum – showcases 30 global projects, including proposals and final designs.
Each project has responded to one of five prompts: how design can engage creative confrontation; how design can address the root causes of conflict; how design can support safe, healthy and respectful environments; how design can embrace truth and dignity in a search for peace and justice; and how design can help transitions from instability to peace.
The photography is by Martin Reis.
Designing Peace takes place from 7 October 2023 to 4 February 2024 at The Museum of Craft and Design, 2569 3rd Street, San Francisco, California 94107, USA.
