Milan design, fashion and media school NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti partners with waste management service AMSA – Gruppo A2A to present the I Am What I Throw Away exhibition during Milan design week.
Showcased at group exhibition and event space Interni Cross Vision, the matrix-like architectural installation is informed by the modular structures of American designer Ken Isaacs and is formed of recycled and innovative materials, the school claims.
The exhibition incorporates artisanal tradition and industrial experimentation, using recycled materials to explore the ethics of circularity and the outcomes of separate waste collection.
The exhibition was curated by NABA scientific advisor Italo Rota and NABA design area leader Claudio Larcher, with partners Bencore, Gruppo Saviola – Ecological Panel and architects Alessandro Pedretti and Giacomo Guarneri of Studio Italo Rota, and the involvement of the NABA Design Area students.
I Am What I Throw Away: NABA with AMSA – Gruppo A2A takes place from 15 to 28 April 2024 at Interni Cross Vision, Università degli Studi di Milano, Cortile d’Onore, Via Festa del Perdono 7, 20122 Milan, Italy.
