The I Will Follow the Ship exhibition by Maltese artist Matthew Attard is showcased at the Venice Art Biennale 2024, exploring the integration of cultural heritage with cutting-edge digital technology.

I Will Follow the Ship – which was co-curated by Elyse Tonna and Sara Dolfi Agostini and forms Malta's pavilion at the biennale – incorporates drawing and technology.

Making references to sacred graffiti of ships across chapels in the Mediterranean, the piece also addresses Attard's recent explorations into artificial intelligence (AI) and drawing technology.

The multi-layered installation utilises physical and virtual environments and unveils the artists' insights on the dynamic between humans and machines.

I Will Follow the Ship takes place from 20 April to 24 November 2024 at The Malta Pavilion, at the Artiglierie in the main Arsenale area in Biennale Arte 2024, Venice, Italy.
