Japanese hemp textile brand Majotae debuts its first product line Majotae 9490 at Milan design week 2024 in a two-part exhibition.
Created in collaboration with Japanese designers Teruhiro Yanagihara Studio, the collection of bedding is available in a range of hues and offerings, including flat sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases.
Informed by the heritage of the Japanese hemp cloth named "taima-fu", Majotae's designs follow extensive research and an archive of over 1500 hemp artefacts, the brand claims.
Majotae aims to combine innovative technology with the traditional hemp cloth production process to create textiles suitable for contemporary use.
Majotae 9490 takes place from 16 to 21 April 2024 at Secci Milano, Via Olmetto 1, 20123 Milan, Italy and Berta, Via Cesare Correnti 14, 20123 Milan, Italy.
