Link City
Daxing Jizi Design has developed an exhibition interior design for Link City in Shenzhen, China.
The third Bigger Art Book Fair, themed 'Stop and Shake Hands', features an exhibition space designed by Daxing Jizi Design. Using coloured water pipes and everyday items, the architects created a large-scale spatial art installation called Link City.
The installation aims to encourage interaction and communication between people through art books, reconnecting them with physical media and offering a more authentic experience.
"The client's requirement was to design a book display space that is both iconic and functional, aligning with the theme Stop and Shake Hands," said Daxing Jizi Design.
Constraints included addressing the theme within a five-day exhibition period and resolving the relationship with the central cross-shaped pillar in the hall.
Construction methods included utilising the multiple advantages of water pipes for framework building, combined with hand spray-painting and assembly to achieve creative expression.
This project has been shortlisted in the exhibition design interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2024.
