Mi Luo City Duan Wu Community Villager Relocating Project
Zaozuo Architecture Studio has designed the Mi Luo City Duan Wu Community Villager Relocating Project in Yueyang City, China.
The Mi Luo City Duan Wu Community Villager Relocating Project is a rural resettlement housing project, involving the demolition and resettlement of nearly 400 rural families in six local villages.
The project started in 2017 and completed the first phase of construction in 2021. As villagers moved in one after another, micro-rural businesses gradually emerged in the settlement, forming a community atmosphere.
"The client need[ed] to build a part of new resettlement houses to complete the annual land disaster avoidance project and improve the housing security level of farmers," said Zaozuo Architecture Studio.
"It [was] required that the construction of the resettlement area take advantage of local tourism development, meet the construction needs of the Quzi Temple-Miluo River Scenic Tourist Area and combine the two major policies of Mi Luo to...create a rural tourism residential area that integrates tourism and residence and is tourism-led."
This project has been shortlisted in the residential project category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
