Babama Concept Store
Atmosphere Architects has designed the Babama Concept Store interior space in Shanghai, China.
The project is located in the Xintiandi Fashion District Phase 2, Huangpu District, near two metro exits, ensuring a strong flow of customers.
As Babama's first global physical store, this space embodies the brand's spirit and philosophy since its founding in 2011 while exploring a dialogue between tradition and modernity through the lens of industrial aesthetics.
The modular design allows for flexibility in meeting different display needs, aligning with sustainability trends. Additionally, prefabricated components facilitate quick assembly and disassembly, addressing the challenge of a short construction timeline.
"The client's brief was to create a themed space centred around the concept of a mechanical heart, fully reflecting the Babama brand's philosophy," said Atmosphere Architects.
"The design needed to incorporate the brand's core concept, blending industrial aesthetics with natural elements while ensuring flexibility to accommodate different display needs and supporting sustainability."
This project has been shortlisted in the retail interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2024.
