Yin Hotel

Combined-Architects and MECC have collaborated on the interior design of the the Yin Hotel project in Qinhuangdao City, China.

This project is the design of a high-end resort hotel, backed by a holiday community and facing the Bohai Gulf. The construction area is 2,523 square metres, completed in 2022.

The hotel boasts an exceptional geographical location, situated at the prime sea-view spot within the high-end holiday community of Aranya.

"In response to the site conditions and the owner's vision, we have proposed a concept that embodies a refined industrial aesthetic akin to the sophisticated, comfortable, and luxurious experience one would expect while aboard a yacht," said Combined-Architects.

"To achieve this, we have extensively utilised materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, leather and acrylic, drawing design elements from the industrial-grade customisation language found in yachts, recreational vehicles, and high-end automobiles."

A particularly representative feature is the corrugated aluminium panels that run through the corridors and guest rooms, inspired by the skin design of the high-end travel luggage brand RIMOWA.

This project has been shortlisted in the hotel and short-stay interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2024.
