Ole Scheeren
German architect Ole Scheeren is principal of international architecture practice Büro Ole Scheeren.
Scheeren's landmark projects shape the way we interact with our cities and create new methods of social engagement through the design of highly integrative environments. Scheeren is Büro Ole Scheeren’s chief designer and responsible for steering the company's creative vision and strategic development.
His projects have won numerous awards including the 2021 CTBUH Urban Habitat Award for Duo in Singapore, the CTBUH Award of Excellence for Duo and MahaNakhon in 2018, the 2015 World Building of the Year Award for The Interlace in Singapore and the 2013 CTBUH Best Tall Building Worldwide Award for the CCTV Headquarters in Beijing. In 2022 the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany, held a large-scale exhibition dedicated to his work titled ‘Ole Scheeren: spaces of life’.
His major developments include the 314-metre-tall MahaNakhon skyscraper in Bangkok, the large-scale Duo mixed-use towers in Singapore and the Guardian Art Center in the historic centre of Beijing.
